Wildlife Survey with the Bio Box

It all starts with stories we tell and the small things notice by paying attention to the world around us - "The world we see and what we pay attention to is the world we bring forth" - A lovely quote from Jim at the start of our session.

A satisfying, fun and successful day using the Weald to Waves BioBox for a wildlife survey at the Littlehampton Community Growers garden. Massive thank you to Marisa and the passion she's put into creating this space and bringing people together and to Jim the wildlife survey with his knowledge from his Ecologist role with the Wildlife Trust. We had such fun in the grass, in the bushes and squinting at tiny bugs!

We recorded a variety of insects including grasshoppers, wolf spiders, froghoppers, bees, flies, mites and grass bugs.We also tested out the inaturalist app to upload information and images, although on some occasions the app wasn't sure what was uploaded or maybe we didn't have signal, but the pamphlets of images and information provided in the Weald to Waves box was so handy!

If you're considering renting one of the BioBoxes, it's definitely worth it, or if you'd like to join in our next wildlife survey in West Sussex......do get in touch!
