Community Apple Day

Oct 6
1 min read

We had a wonderful day at our Community Apple Day at Maltravers Orchard, a combined effort by our group and the Littlehampton Community Growers group.

We included the informative Weald to Waves banner sharing information on the 100 mile nature corridor connecting nature across Sussex, and was a pleasure to welcome Maralyn May, the Littlehampton Town Council Mayor join in.

𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸𝘀 𝘁𝗼:

🔸Marisa from Littlehampton Community growers group

🔸Kevin and Martin from local Culberry Nursery leading the apple pressing station

🔸Our Hobbs Community Garden team for helping out

🔸Rachel and Zara who ran the children’s art and craft stall

🔸Emma Baynes, a local herbalist sharing a talk on the benefits of apples

🔸Liz who led the creative seed packet creation stall

🔸Pamela who helped with the cake and tea stand

🔸Martin Wilson led the orchard tour

🔸Performance from the Ukulele Group Littlehampton u3a and Arun East u3a

🔸Emma, Christine and Julie from the Littlehampton Area Swift, Swallow & Martin Group

🔸Everyone who brought homemade treats to help with donations collections

A wonderful day to drink fresh juice, eat cake and make new friends, and definitely looking forward to some of our other upcoming sessions which include wildlife surveys, pond creation, poetry and creating another compost bay.
