August Garden Gathering
What a wonderful turn-out for our Garden Gathering on Sunday, We had 17 people join us in the garden, filling the space with warm chatter, active hands, and plenty of shared cups of tea.
It was fantastic to see both familiar faces and new neighbours connecting over a bit of outdoor work, sharing ideas, and simply enjoying each other’s company in the fresh air. Moments like today remind what Community Garden can offer - bringing people together, building community, sharing ideas and creating a welcome, vibrant space for everyone to enjoy. Thank you to every single person who came along and made the day so special!
Todays session achieved:
welcoming new volunteers
reviewing wildlife pond design & creation
tasting unusual edible plants
sharing information on compost creation
comfrey cut back & leaves stored
receiving donated books
moving stick piles ready for insect hotel workshops
clearing brambles from the fruit bushes and shed edge
harvesting veg
dead heading flowers
weeding underneath the fruit trees
planning out future workshops with local groups
planting out peppers
pruning back the grape vine
reviewing cycling routes and access
